Stent Manufacturing

I led to plan an end-to-end manufacturing strategy for stents, aiming to decrease the incidence of coronary artery disease in heart patients.

  1. As a 6-member team, I coordinated with researchers to plan a comprehensive strategy for the end-to-end manufacturing of stents aimed at reducing the incidence of coronary artery disease in heart patients.

  2. Utilizing SolidWorks, I analyzed the structure of the stents and designed a 3D CAD model of a Bare Metal Stent (BMS) that complied with healthcare guidelines and was market-ready. Our product launch resulted in a predicted revenue of $100,000 and an estimated outreach to over 1,000,000+ people.

  3. The manufacturing process involved using lean manufacturing methods and establishing a Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) process through laser beam machining that catered to micrometer precision, allowing us to produce a 13mm long and 4mm diameter stainless steel stent.
