Topology Optimization

I was tasked with creating a chair and table set that would be both aesthetically pleasing and durable enough to withstand real-world forces!

Altair Inspire is a powerful tool that can be used for finite element analysis (FEA) modeling. By using the software to simulate real-world forces, it is possible to create furniture that is both visually appealing and durable enough to withstand daily use. Here are some technical details about the process:

  1. The first step in the process was to create an FEA model of the chair and table set. This was accomplished by implementing Altair Inspire and inputting the relevant parameters to generate a 3D model.

  2. Once the initial FEA model was created, the topology was optimized. This was done to create an enhanced structure that would be stronger and more durable than the original. As a result, the weight-stress ratio was reduced by 2.5, making it stronger and more durable than ever before.

  3. In addition to optimizing the topology, the model was further upgraded by generating a mesh topology. This allowed for even greater optimization of the structure, resulting in a 40% reduction in weight. This reduction in weight catered to aesthetics and customer satisfaction.

  4. The end result of this process was a furniture set that was not just visually stunning, but also durable and strong. The intricate design and durability of the structure made it clear that every detail had been carefully considered and expertly crafted.

Overall, the use of Altair Inspire to optimize the topology and generate a mesh topology was critical in creating a furniture set that met both aesthetic and functional requirements. The final product is a testament to the power of technology and the ability to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of furniture design.
